Hi

Looking for any names or interest that may have married a MAUND particulary in the Brimfield area

Regards

Brummy

Hi .....  I have been researching my Colebatch connection around Brimfield, Kingsland....  the reason for thinking there is some connection is that in Elizabeth Colebatch (nee pateshall) is living on the farm with her son Phillip Colebatch called Rosemaund in 1881.  Elizabeth died there in 1888.  Elizabeth's children where born in the Brimfield, Bromyard area.

I often wondered how Rosemaund got its name.

Thomas Taylor and Anne Maund were born in Brimfield, and that is where they lived.

Hi Ausiain,

I am researching my grandfather, George Alexander Hill, brother of your grandmother, Marguerite Maund (nee Hill); I am Una Hill's (now Kroll) daughter. I very much hope you are still receiving messages from this post, would be great to catch up and compare notes. Do I assume that you are son or daughter of Marguerite Maund Jnr, in Australia? Hope very much to hear from you.

Una (also named after my Mother - seems to be a family tradition!)

My GG Grandmother was Mary Maund, she married Thomas Gittings on 31.5.1842 in Tenbury. Her father is named as Thomas Maund, labourer. Mary is aged 22 at the time of her marriage giving a birth year of c 1821 (1821 is birth year in census also). On her daughters birth certificate she is named as Mary Ann Maund. In the 1851 census her birth place is Tenbury, and in 1861 it is recorded as Kerwood and in 1891 Bromyard.
Is anyone able to throw any light on who her father and mother were ?

John James Maund

Good afternoon Amy

It has been some time since I got involved in family history, am now working and living in Asia.

I have started to be interested in John James Maund as I now have many copies of parish entries for wales, but reading the letters of John James Maund who you indicate was born in 1765 and his father dies in 1799 at the age of 99, it would make his father about 65 when John was born!!! or he married late and had a very younger wife or he married twice again with a younger wife.

I cannot find any Maund who dies in 1799 at the age of 99, may I know where the information comes from that he was born & from Wales? do you know the ship that he arrived on from England and where it left port?, what was the name of his daughter that came back to England after his father's death, did he come with her and if so what was the name of the ship, the port it left and the intended port in England?

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you..

Warm regards Gary
