Some dates and relationships between these would have helped (ie. Kitty appears to be the daughter of the Stephen who came from Ireland?)

There's a marriage in March quarter 1903 of Stephen Scallon to possibly Annie Elliot in Newcastle (freebmd.rootsweb.com)
A Vincent Reece m. Katherine A. Scallon Newcastle T. Sep 1904 quarter (same)

indexed on LDS as 'SCALTON'

On the Reece side:

Vincent Reece, 26, b. Staffs N Castle Under Lyne, Clothier's Assistant, is in the 1901 census by himself in Byker.

This is the family he's with in 1881:

Mark Hulse, 37, head, tile maker b. Tunstall

There is a freeBMD marriage Mar 1880 quarter of Mark Hulse and Harriet Reece.

Copley Street, Tunstall

John Reece, head, 37, Manager at Iron Works, b. Wolstanton

Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for Scallon help. Sorting it out well now.
Kitty did m Vincent abt 1904
Stephen m Annie Calvert Ellliot.

I found a baptismal cert for Catherine A 17/12/1879 and says her parents Stephen and Helen O'Neil.   Could Eleanor   (1881 census)be another name for Helen???   As Eleanor died 1882 I wonder who looked after all the children etc? Maybe just the older ones.
Any chance someone could look at the family in 1891 please?

Scaltons 1881 census) are my Scallons. They were Tailors in Newcastle @ 24-30 Shields Road .

Stephen Scallon m Annie Calvert Elliot are parents of Stephen  1904 and Brian 1909...

as for the Reece family ..thats another days work soon!!!

In re reading the info re the REECE family, I see that daughter Sarah Anne is aged 23 in the 1881 census BUT is not mentioned  in the 1871 census!!

Could she be the Sarah Anne mention as a 4 year old grandaughter in the part where it says "rest of the family" and it should be aged 14??
