The birth certificate of James & Hannah's son Joseph shows that they were married in Glasgow 20/01-1860 or maybe 1840. I can find no trace of it. James's Parents John Kelly & Helen Gilikson. Hannahs was Andrew Nisbit and Hannah Murray

Hiya Campbell,

Do you have the image electronically?  You could post it up here and we could maybe help trying to see the date.

The 2 dates you have a choice of are pre and post the start of statutory registration in 1855.  Which makes it a toughie.

I have spent about a year trying to find a marriage in Glasgow which was by license and the miss-spelling was terrible.  The couple were not from Glasgow and the registrar obviously didn't bother to get the names right. 

Also what date was Joseph born?

I was a bit slow James was actually born in 1863 and Hannah according to the census's born 1838 so it obviously wasn't 1840 But I cannot find it on the Scotlands people sight.
