would it be possible to look for James and Jessie McKenzie in directories for 1891 or before please?
All I know is that James was at one time he worked onboard ship and they lived in Belfast.
Both were deceased by 1911.
I am also trying to track down Francis (aka Frank) Courtney (aka McCourtney) in 1891, would anyone be able to help please?
He was born in about 1848 -1852 in Ireland (possible Belfast but I don't know)
In 1901 he was in Greenock in Scotland age 49
His wife was Jane (Mary) born in about 1852-1857 - in Ireland and was 44 in 1901
Daughter Emily was born in 1885 in Scotland and was 15 in 1901
Daughter Annie was born about 1890 in Scotland or at sea and was 11 in 1901
Annie I am told was born at sea but the 1901 census says Greenock.
Frank was also supposed to be a Ships Captain and his wife is supposed to have gone to sea with him leaving the girls with the McKenzie family from Belfast, Frank worked for the Donaldson line in Port Glasgow.
They were married in Belfast in 1882.
I haven't found them either in 1891 or the McKenzie's in 1901.
