Hi Joe,
Thanks for the info. confirms a lot of what I have , but some extra to look in to.

According to the marriage cert of John Lockie & Mary Armstrong in 1869, her parents were Arthur Armstrong, Shepherd and Margaret Armstrong nee Grieve.

The 1881 census for John Lockie shows one  of the childrens  middle name being Grieve.

Looks like may have to find death certs for Arthur & wife to confirm, still had no contact about Robert.

Looks like you were right about the marriage.
Arthur Armstrong died 1905 at Castleton, rtd. shepherd, age 89, widower of Elizabeth Jardine dec. (Illegitimate), mother Elizabeth Cowan, father ?

Hello,

Found and have a copy of a marriege entry of your Robert Murray Lockie to a Mary Milne on 31 May 1913 - in Nairn.  Definitely them
It appears to have been a civil ceremony.  However there appears to be a slight irregularity in the column titled 'If a regular marriage etc'.  I'm having difficulty trying to make out what's written there - aging eyesight
I can either post the copy here for you and others to decipher, or send it direct to you.
Regards,   Steve   :O)

Hello

Attached is the copy - yes, from SP.  FYI checked till 1956 - can find no record of him dying in Scotland.  Obviously he was either still alive or had moved outwith Scotland.  Did not check for children.  In your 1916 info, was there any mention of wife or children?
I'm going to the Registrars in Aberdeen a week on Monday to do some research and shall do a check on him and see if there were any children.  Shall post any result privately.

Have a good day.  Good luck with your research.  Regards,   Steve..........

(Blame Joekar for my interest - he's recently done me a favour on the research front)   :O)

Hi Piglet01,

Thanks for the Cert., I see what you mean all the lot is difficult to read.
It looks as you say an irregular marriage, Warrant of Sheriff Subshile ? of Inverness,Elgin & Nairn, why irregular something to hide?

Had no info on him at all, was getting round to it eventually along with rest of my wife's ancestors, there are so many branches from the Borders northward.
