No, but seriously, it's well worth using a good up-to-date virus checker. On one of our Microsoft PCs we use "Norton Internet Security", we also have a virus-catching service with our ISPs too - (so really a virus would have to go through two virus checkers I suppose).
Apart from virus checkers, one thing that's well worth doing is doing a "backup" on a regular basis. It's something so many people mean to do, but inevitably it doesn't get done - it's a bit like cleaning the leaves in the gutters (and I've only ever done THAT once).
At the very least print off, or write down email addresses of people you really want to keep hold of, write down (in a secret form) usernames and passwords of sites that you really need or other information that you have that is invaluable.
