ELLIS in Huddersfield
« on: Wednesday 11 February 04 07:06 GMT (UK) »
Hey,

I have this fellow named James Ellis born anywhere from 1816-1823 in Huddersfield. He married a woman named Caroline who was born in Stalybridge. The first child (that I know of them having anyway) was born in 1847 in Gorton and named George Andrew Ellis. The rest of their children (again the ones that I know of) were born in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

They are in the Ashton 81 Census, though I haven't found James and Caroline in the 91 census.

If anyone out there has a clue for me to follow I would be grateful :).
Thanks a bunch.

You may wish to pursue them by searching in the 1851 Ashton Census Index

See www.mlfhs.org.uk/Bookshop/index.html

Pauline.

Haven't yet had time to chase him in Hudds 1841.
