Ordination records are not necessarily at Kew

My ancestors was at Wiltshire RO, as they were in the diocese of Salisbury

The person I employ to go to Kew and other Records Offices in the South of England for me
found all of mine held in Kew.

Copy Records were normally kept at three separate venues in case of fire the Church involved, the Diocese and the Main Records Office.

Trees!
The County Record Office should have what you're looking for; they may even have copies of the parish magazine for that time.  If you can get to Birmingham, ask to look at a Baptism register for that period and then you can check the ministers' names.
Happy hunting!

If anyone has clergy in their family there is an online database of appointents and postings for curates, priests, bishops and other clergy at:

Clergy of Church of England Database
New link added Nov 2013

bless you!
Susan

Just wondering if anybody is having trouble opening this site? I've tried for 2 days, but can't open it. I've tried going through Google as well, finding the link on another site, but I can't open it by using that link either.
