Mutton / Tregenna - Cornwall

Hello,

I am trying to find information on George MUTTON AND Elizabeth (nee Tregenna) MUTTON from Cornwall. Quite unusual names, so hopefully somebody will have done some research on them already?

I don't know too much about them but I know they had a son called Hensley in 1847 (in Devon).

He was a Master Mariner who eventually settled in the Sunderland area. Hensley, being my GG Grandfather.

Any census or miscellaneous information would be gratefully received.

Hi here is the 1851 census for Devon it may help..Obviously they were already in Devon by 1841 so sorry I cant help there with census I only have Cornwall 41 one

there is only one earlier one and that is the 41 census with all the children being born Plymouth they r already in Devon then! I am afraid that nobody appears to have that census.

I am related to the Mutton families of Landulph, Pelynt, Lanreath & Truro.  Don't have any George's at the moment though.  Do you have any further information, like their marriage certificate?

Just looked and found your family are on the IGI for Devon.  George & Elizabeths marriage & their children's baptism. Maybe you already have these details?  Their marriage certificate would give you their fathers name's.

Many thanks for the info. I had searched the IGI but didn't have details of the baptism.

A marriage certificate would help but it was 1836, the year BEFORE public records started.

I believe Andrew Tregenna Mutton was my Great, Great Grandfather.
