Hi Sylviaann,my name is wayne and i have noticed you are researching the name Betts in Norfolk and i was wondering whether your Betts could be related to a Mary Betts who married an ancestor of mine in Wood Dalling in about 1814.The person she married was a Christopher Doughty who was born about 1790 in Wood Norton.Hopefully there is a link,if you require more info please let me know.

Hi Wayne

Sorry my Betts came from Shropham and there is not a Mary amongst them.

I am descended from Bridget born 1761.  She married William Loveday.

Sorry I cannot help you

Sad news  :(  :(

There is a message on the Norfolk Transcription Archives site:

Important Notice

This site is no longer being updated or maintained. I will be keeping the site available as long as possible, whilst long term future of the information contained is considered. We would like to thank all the transcribers for their hard work over the years, without them none of this would have been possible. Should you wish to take over the the running of this site, please contact Andrew Rivett.(e-mail)

    Thank You,
    Andrew

I've often thought this would make a good starting point for an OPC site for Norfolk.
Let's all hope somebody will take it over and continue running it.

Bob

This site is brilliant and I have used it heaps of times!
Church records back to 1500's
It will be so sad if it is allowed to fall apart  :'(.
Surely somebody out there can save it - any takers?
What about it RootsChat?
cheers

Glad you like the web-site. Some offers have been received to continue the NTA and these are being considered; our main concern is that access will remain free and preventing others from publishing parts of it for profit.
