Hi Dorothy !

I'm wondering if you could ask Keith Sherwood on this board - for a look-up the next time he goes to Shire Hall !! - Bedfordshire Boy and a few others are very knowledgable - so I hope they pick this up !!

Hi Annie,

This would be just great if Keith or someone else would do this for me!  I haven't come across Keith Sherwood's name yet.  As you mentioned, I hope this is picked up.  Any suggestions how to go about this?

Hello,

I doubt that my Charles Nightingale nor his descendants ever sang in Barclay Square as he lived at Kneesworth Hall in Cambridge.   :(  However, his ancestry is important to me.

A little 'bird' from Liverpool mentioned that some of you visit Shire Hall from time to time.  As it is very difficult for a Canadian like me to visit there, would there be a kind soul on this list who would be willing to find some information on Charles and his descendants for me?   Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi, Dorothy, I think you wanted to post that message on another board!?
Found you on a "moved topic" earlier....
I imagine you have already found this...Edwards marriage Eleanor Ethelstone
August 28th, 1724   Saint Luke, Chelsea, London  on the I.G.I....
There are also many children born to this couple as well...although they need to perhaps be sorted from other Edwards & Eleanors...all extracted files...there are some pedigree listings also...

More on Ethelston side
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/e/t/h/Karen-P-Ethelston/index.html

Dorothy, you may want to peek into the 1851 census while it's free, there are only 2 born Eng, but they are in York... but you may find other familiar names...

Hi J.J.

Yes, they are gems of genealogy.  However, I cannot connect the later ones to my family.  One of my maternal gt. aunts married a Walter Nightingale in Montreal in 1918.  His father was a William Nightingale but I have no ancestry on this William.  Will just have to continue working on this.

Many thanks for the websites.  I haven't had a chance yet to review them all but I have written Karen Ethelston and will check out the balance tomorrow.

I become really rattled on this site as to where to post my messages.  A few of them have been moved.

Thank you so much for Edward's marriage to Eleanor Ethelstone - I didn't have this.  This 1724 date fits in nicely with their approximate dates of births. So far I show only 4 children born to Edward and Eleanor - will check out the IGI.

Many thanks for your help.
