From Canada to Staffordshire

I have been told one of the people I am researching could have come from Canada to the Uk.  I can I go about finding out if this is so?

The details I have are Herbert Stanley Sharp b 1894 father Alfred Sharp who was  a carpenter.

Herbert married in London in 1919 and his given profession was a farmer.  His father was noted as being deceased and he was a carpenter.

can anybody please lead me in the right direction to begin my search in Canada.  Many thanks in advance.
