ALLERTON, Elizabeth
« on: Sunday 19 June 05 02:54 BST (UK) »
I think one Elizabeth ALLERTON married one Jessie PARKER
in 1874.

In 1881, the family was residing in Wrexham, Denbigshire.
Elizabeth was listed as 29 and born in Park Bridge.

Welcome any information of the ALLERTON name in Greater
Manchester, Shropshire and Denbigshire & Flintshire.

Elizabeth ALLERTON born about 1852 or 1853 in a place called Park Bridge
(I can't find a Park Bridge) and she married a Jesse PARKER in 1874
in the Overton to Ellesmere region near Wrexham.

Some of the children were Richard, Joseph and Jane.
Jane Parker married an Edward TILSTON in 1901 or 1902 in Wrexham.

Hi!

Could this be Elizabeth in the 1871 Census....

Place: Holt, Denbighshire    Parish: Worthenbury
RG10/5651    Folio: 36    Page: 5    Sch : 21

Hannah Taylor        Head      U    59    Dressmaker    Worthenbury, Flintshire
Elizabeth Allerton    Niece      U    20    Dressmaker    Penley, Flintshire
Hannah Allerton      Niece      U    6m                       Liverpool, Lancashire
Harriet Jones          Lodger          11    Scholar         Hanmer, Flintshire
Sarah Ann Jones     Lodger           8     Scholar         Hanmer, Flintshire

Also, the birth of a Jesse Parker was registered in the district of Ellesmere in the Qtr to Mar 1842 (Vol 18, Page 74). Overton is one of the sub-districts of Ellesmere and is shown as his place of birth in the 1881 Census. (By the way, this shows that Elizabeth was born at Farm Bridge).

I couldn't find Elizabeth in 1861, but this looks like Jesse....

Registration District: Ellesmere    Place: Farmers Row
RG09    Piece: 1881    Folio: 40    Page: 3

Richard Parker      Head    M    M    55    Fisherman    BLIND      Erbistock, Denbighshire
Jane Parker          Wife    M     F    48    Fisherman's Wife         Overton, Flintshire
Jesse Parker        Son    Unm   M    19    Bricklayer's Labourer    Overton, Flintshire
Caroline Parker     Dau             F     8     Scholar                     Overton, Flintshire
William Edwards   Uncle  Widower    M    84    Ag Lab                Overton, Flintshire

Hope this helps!

Very good information.  The Jesse Parker situation appears clear, but the Elizabeth Allerton
story appears unclear to the real name of her mother/
