where is Barton I

I have a marriage sep 1919 between david haywood and ethel mercer. one index shows the number as 9c 1704 the other as 3c 1704 the disrict is Barton I. any ides where this is

Googling it, I think it should be 8c (which is what the Haywood image says, I think)

you could be right tajna. but the mercer entry looks like 9 compared with the other, what do you think of that one? as fa as i know ethel mercer never left pontefract all her life. its certainly got me thinking. i will order the cert and see what i get :) :)

I do think on Ethel's image it's indeed 9c but the registration district is defo Barton I for both Mercer and Haywood...
