I think this Edward John Lees Howard was my grandfather's cousin (names and dates fit exactly).  Was there a date on the grave?

Could you email me a photo?

Thanks

Being a native of Vadsų, I know this grave well. This link: http://www.finnmarken.no/lokale_nyheter/article6125474.ece leads to an article in the local newspaper, concerning who has the responsibility to maintain the grave.

The first paragraph of the article reads (in my translation):
"On August 4th 1896, the sailor Edward J. Howard died in Vadsų. The 19 years old boy fell from the rigging of one of the English ships moored in Vadsų. The accident occured in connection with the solar eclipse thet drew both scientists and foreign navies to Vadsų in 1896."
