1841 Carmarthenshire census lookup
« on: Wednesday 30 August 06 22:01 BST (UK) »
I have the certificate for the marriage of my g-g-g-grandparents, William THOMAS and Catherine EVANS, this taking place in the Chapelry district of Carmarthenshire on 6 November 1838. Their fathers' names and occupations are given as Jeremiah THOMAS, labourer, and David EVANS, farmer. William's residence at the time of the marriage is given as Nantycu and Catherine's as Dyffryn Hafod. I am unsure of any connection between the Thomases and Nantycu but feel that there may have been an ongoing connection between the Evanses and Dyffryn Hafod as the name crops up several times in later events. Anyone able to locate Jeremiah and David, and possibly their families, on the 1841 or later censuses?

Thanks again.

hi
This would appear to be the only Jeremiah in
Carmarthenshire old enough to be Williams father.
the daughters are born Merthyr as was William.
