FREEMAN - yet another brick wall

I feel as though I need some SERIOUS help with this long standing problem ....

My family of Freemans on the 1851 census give me everything I know is correct!  They do not appear on the 1841 census in the area which I know they lived for many many years.

They had 3 children in Birmingham, and 3 children in York.  I must therefore suppose that the family lived in Birmingham for some while before moving to York.

Then I find on the 1841 census, a family of Freemans in Leicester - all having the same names as my York family - plus or minus a couple of additions.  The father (head) is a Maltster in the 1841 census, whilst my relation was a Hatter.

The ages vary too, but not wildly.

Could anyone please take a look and assure me that these two families are different - I am completely baffled by this, and need more pairs of eyes to guide me!

The families are:  Henry Freeman (born 1791 - Crawley, Sussex) - 1851 census

           and:          Henry Freeman (born 1801 - Leicester) - 1841 census.

I think you'll find that Henry FREEMAN 1799 was still making malt (and farming) in Desford in 1851.

Thanks very much for that Geoff - I think that really sews up my theory well and truly.

As my Freemans don't seem to be on the 1841 census, but are having children in Birmingham a little earlier, I must suppose that they were on their way to York somewhere around that time.
