Please is there anyone out there from Preston that can help me I am trying to fined my G Grandfathers parents
John Sewell b 1829 his parents worked in the cotton mills I have been tracing this for 15 years went to carlisle recently thinking he was born there as was his family befor him
please any info on where to go from hear would be most appreciated

Hi Audrey, We searched our Preston Old cemetery database (which is only a third complete), No Sewell`s unfortunately.
Try asking the question on LANCSGEN

my great grandfather John Sewells family were origanally from Carlisle I believe is parents were only living in Preston for a short time they worked in the cotton mills from what I believe after John was born in 1828-29 they returned to carlisle I am almost sure I have them on the 1841 botchergate census confirmed all the siblings apart from John were born carlisle
