Hi Jose. I live in Australia, and am researching this pair too.
They were my husbands gr gr grandparents.
I have Catharine’s birthplace as Coldstream, Scotland from the census, but have not found their marriage.
I have another couple who married at approximately the same time, and, for reasons of religion (they were Roman Catholic), I have been advised they probably slipped over the border to marry.

This pair were Thomas Tait and Barbara Mason who also raised their family in the Kyloe area in the 1840’s. Their children were baptised in the Lowick Presbyterian church.
Their son John Tait ( born 1833 Brock Mill farm near Haggerston), went on to marry Catharine Moody, daughter of John Moody and Catharine Hay.
Hopefully we will find them one day!
Eileen
