Sparrow Family of Staffordhsire

Seeking any information or possible sources of information with regards to the above family that seem to be around Audley, Sedgeley and Audley again!

Have tried to trace possible sources on line to make further investigations but without success.  The link to this "landed" family seems to be

Edwin Sparrow - b 1825  (who moved to Acomb York)
Edwin Sparrow (snr) b 1797
William Sparrow b 1764 DOM 1788 to Mary Hanbury
William Sparrow (Snr) b c 1725/7  dom c1761 to Eliz. Allen

Any info - no matter how apparently small, appreciated.

I think this is the same as William below, there are possible entries for the other three daughters at various schools in Penn or Wolverhampton, I'll post them if you want.

Fits with marriage on IGI to Ellen Adams 28/2/1824 St Matthew,Walsall
And there are children on the iGI too.

The IGi seems to have William Hanbury(or Hamburg!) Sparrow married to a Caroline. The National Archives have a heap of stuff, letter etc from William Hanbury.

I'm not quite sure what I am looking for either??

With this line I am travelling across the counties of England and it was only when I spotted the "Pedigree" file notes on IGI that I thought there may be something else worth digging up!

This William Hanbury - it is Hanbury - is something to do with being the Edwin aged 16 on the '41 census, uncle more than likely, looking at the entries you kindly found on the 41 census for me, as Edwin's grandmother according to sources was Mary Hanbury prior to marriage.  Its all confusing - as Edwin (41 census) has later entries on census records as being "gentleman" and I am just trying to fathom out really where his means came from - as it would appear to have suddenly disappeared!

Back to the diggin!

A Mrs. Sparrow owned land in Goldenhill, North Staffordshire in the early 1800s I think they were a family of some notoriety in North Staffs.  You could try Keele Reference Library for advice.  Have you thought of contacting Audley Family History Society?  I think Mrs. Sparrow owned land in Norton and Chell as well.
