Hi Darren & welcome to Rootschat. Hope East Grinstead has warmed up since you last wrote
Can confirm the marriage you mentioned. From Capel Parish records (1653-1840)
Fanny Rapley spinster married James Longhurst bachelor 19/4/1831. Witness, Edward Rapley.
Baptism: Faney (sic) Rapley 17/7/1803 d/o William
Marriage: William Rapley, bachelor,
married Ann Worsfold, widow, 6/4/1795
Baptisms for the children of William.
James Rapley 20/5/1798 s/o William
William Rapley 10/3/1800 s/o WilliamFaney
1803 (as above)
RANEY 9/2/1806 d/o William
Edward 22/4/1810 s/o William
Although it never mentions the mothers name, I'm sure it's Ann as there were no other Rapley's in Capel at that time having children.
Edward Rapley 29/3/1720
Name unknown 1/4/1770 'a child of Jos'
James Rapley 11/1/1818 'james of Ruggs 4 months'
William Rapley 17/11/1828 age 66
Ann Rapley 5/2/1837 'of Dorking'
So, it looks like we have connections
Fanny & Rannay were sisters! As I mentioned in the earlier posting, Rannay married William Braby/Bravery in Capel 1822. Rannay died in 1863 Capel.
The witness at Fanny's wedding would have been Edward, her younger brother.
If I can be of anymore help, just let me know,
