I don't know if you can help me, but I am going to try.
What I know is :-
Mary PROUT, married George HICKS, in 1846.
In 1851, she is listed, on the census, as a widow, mother of William George HICKS,born in the U S., in abt 1847.
In 1881, William george HICKS is listed, as born in ILLINOIS, U S.
Therefore, all I know is:-
George died, between 1846 snd 1851, the OPC who has helped me, cannot find s death, on Parish Records.
William George HICKS, born c 1847, in the U S., possibly ILLINOIS. Mother Mary Prout, born St Teath, Cornwall, England, father George HICKS, born Cornwall, England.
Mary, married in 1846, went to the U S., gave birth, became a widow and was back in St Teath to be listed on the census, in 1851.
Hardly time, to settle in the U S., I know, but the OPC member has suggested I place a message, I will give it a try, and hope one of you brilliant members, can help me.
