I have no idea where Joseph was born but going off his immigration papers in 1841 that said he was 26 then he would have been born about 1815....his headstone says possibly Yorkshire......He married a Susan(nah) ??? before sailing to Australia and had 3 or 4 kids somewhere in Uk....please can some-one out there help me find them... children were Martha born 1840,Mary born 1839,Ben(jamin) unknown , and joseph unknown...
thanks everybody

The Yeovil oneseems to be living in Martock on the 1851 census ... of seven successive familes on the census, six of them are TUCKERs!  :o

Hi MWK....I made a couple of real basic mistakes last night on someones post.......i am hoping to redeem myself tonight ;D By process of elimination of all children born 1838 to 1841 with names of Martha ,Mary , Joseph and Benjemen i found.....

1838 Jul Aug Sept 10 71 Mary Tucker b Oakhampton
1840 Oct Nov Dec X 157 Martha Tucker b Oakhampton
1841 Apr May June X 161 Joseph Tucker b Oakhampton

only two Benjemens....one in Alderbury 1839  and one in St Lukes 1840....... but you did note that you thought 3 or 4 children.Of course these may not be yours at all but matched  birth place for the marriage that Jan found earlier and the other Joseph who married a Sussannah in Yeovil did have a Joseph b Dec 1839 but no other children that matched your names.

best wishes cheryle.f ( I hope your keeping an eye on me from way up there Geoff) ;)

Hi cheryle.f ... you're doing OK ;)

TUCKER is such a common name in Devon (15 Mary's born 1837-39 showing up on the 1841 census) ... plus one or two unfortunate surname transcriptions.  :o

The youngest Joseph in Devon is living miles from Okehampton ... East Budleigh, wrong parents.

Loads of them in Somerset as well :(
