Hello Tina,
I am the Granddaughter of Elizabeth McCormack and am called after her. She was Alice's sister. She married in Glasgow and following the births of my Uncle George (Dunnet) and Aunt Helen (Nellie Dunnet) my Grandfather (John Dunnet)and Granny moved back to his native Caithness where my father (John McCormack Dunnet) was born. My Aunt Nellie kept in touch with Alice up until her death. My older sister (now deceased) visited Alice once or twice when she was a student nurse in Glasgow. I have a letter from Alice to my parents thanking them for a Christmas gift and the Cambeltown address still has McCranks living there. I have not as yet done anything about this as its been a VERY busy past 3years one way or another. I have a fair bit of the family tree and would be happy to share it with you.
Elizabeth McCormack Dunnet  aka Elspeth!

Hellen McPhee McCormick (Mothers name Cleig) was my Grandmother who married my Grandfather Patrick Hamill in Campbeltown  28/11/1911.
According to my father she gave birth to many children but only four survived into adulthood. She died in childbirth.
Hope this is pof some help?
Alastair

Could McPhee be the female Cleig's mother's maiden name?

Hello Annie,

Thanks for your response, much appreciated.
Her mother and her maternal grandmother don't have this name so I am thinking it must be on the fathers side or even further back. It is strange that she is the only one in her family with this name so I shall continue to look for it.
Appreciate your input.
Alastair

Hello Everyone,

John McCormick and Mary Cleig/Clegg were my Great Grandparents. My Grandfather was their son John.

I would be really interested in sharing information with you all!
