Try www.historicaldirectories.org  they have a very comprehensive lot of local directories for many areas.   I have an 1834 one - could not see them in that.  If you look at later census records for the Market Place you may find the pub name - or the record office will be able to help.

Hi Perdy

Have my ggg grandfather John Cummins listed as a Publican, Bristol 1851 Census. His father was Thomas and mother Elizabeth. Same family?

Best wishes
