Daniel Rees b1809 Glamorgan
« on: Wednesday 18 October 06 22:14 BST (UK) »
I first find my ancestor, Daniel Rees who was born in Glamorgan in 1809, with wife Mary (born Sheffield in the 1820s) in 1851 in Woolwich.   The family looked like this:

Daniel Rees, surgery man, 42, Grt. Dr 3 Bn R A Y*, b. Glamorgan Cardiff
Mary Ann, wife, 32, b. Yorkshire Sheffield
Daniel, son, 12, scholar, b. Wt Indies St Ketts?
Martha, dau, 7, scholar, b. Kent Woolwich
Henry, son, 6, scholar, b. do.
Chas, son, 5, scholar, b. do.
Anne?, dau, 2, b. do.
Thos, son, 1, b. do.

I can find no record of their marriage, but this might have been before 1837, nor can I find their whereabouts in 1841, but son Daniel was born in the West Indies in 1839, so the family might have been overseas when the 1841 census was taken.

My problem is there seems to be quite a few Daniel Rees's born in Glamorgan around the time of my own Daniel's birth.  But if anyone can offer an insight of how to find out where the family might have been, I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Thank you to all taking the time to read this message.

Helen.

Added note:  When I created this posting yesterday I entered Daniel's name on the title of the post as Daniel Rhys and it should have read Daniel REES.  (Rees is actually my maiden name but our third son is Rhys so typed this in accidentally - sorry for any misunderstanding).
