Looking for any information the following:
Generation No. 1

SAMUAL HAIR  was born 16 Apr 1844 in Whithorn, Wigtown, Occupation: sheperd.  He married SUSAN BRADSHAW 22 Nov 1870 in Whithorn, Wigtown.  Child of SAMUAL HAIR and SUSAN BRADSHAW is: SARAH THOMSON HAIR, b. 1877, Kirkinner Wigtown.

Generation No. 2

SARAH THOMSON HAIR was born 1877 in Kirkinner Wigtown.  She married JOHN ANDREW NICOLSON 26 Sep 1902 in Wigtown, son of JAMES NICOLSON and MARY MOWAT.  He was born 15 Aug 1875 in Hoy And Graemsay, Orkney, and died 27 Oct 1927 in Dumfries infirmary age 51, Occupation: Tailor. JOHN ANDREW NICOLSON: stayed 74 George st Whithorn. Child of SARAH HAIR and JOHN NICOLSON is: JAMES SINCLAIR4 NICOLSON, b. 06 May 1903, Whithorn Wigtown.

Any information about the Hair side of the family would be appreciated

Doesn't the MC of Samuel and Susan from 1870 give you the names of Samuel's parents?  If it does then you might find them on a parent search of the IGI with some more siblings to Samuel.  And knowing if they were living or dead from the 1870 MC you could search for the DC of his mother by Maiden name and married name and if she lived past 1855 you could easily find her parents names..........and so it goes......

Samuel, parents and siblings are living in Whithorn in the 1851 Census, see www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census.aspx (free to search/view).

Key in just Address: Drummoral (900) Household No.: 1/17A, (as shown - caps/spaces etc.) and the household will be shown (x9).

Parents down as born in Ireland, it may be more difficult for you to go further back due to Irish records. As Jean stated, a look at their death certs. will confirm their parents' names.

I have a very small amount of information re a Samuel Hair, youngest child of William Hair and Ellen Dodds, of Whithorn, Wigtownshire - but the birthdate I have is 1847.  Is it possible that we are talking about the same person?  Lindsay Robertson

It is possible as I have children with Dodds in thier name. I have him married to SUSAN BRADSHAW 22 Nov 1870 in Whithorn, Wigtown.  Could he have been married twice

It was the NICOLSON family I was researching that led me to Hair from Orkney (NICOLSON) to Wigtown

JOHN ANDREW NICOLSON (JAMES5, JOHN4, WILLIAM3, FRANCIS2, HUGEON1) was born 15 Aug 1875 in Hoy And Graemsay, Orkney, and died 27 Oct 1927 in Dumfries infirmary age 51.  He married SARAH THOMSON HAIR 26 Sep 1902 in Wigtown, daughter of SAMUAL HAIR and SUSAN BRADSHAW.  She was born 1877 in Kirkinner Wigtown.
