Frederick William Kenny-Arrival

Trying to find when this fellow arrived in Australia.  He was my wife's great grandfather and married in Castlemaine, Victoria in January 1884 but I can find no trace of him arriving here. On his wedding certificate he stated he was born in Fairwater, Germany and from the conflicting ages given at marriage and death I arrived at a birth date around 1840-1855.  Got to say I've tried all the online databases that I know about without success.

I checked Multimaps for Fairwater and only two show up, one in Wales, the other Wisconsin USA. Have you thought of contacting the Archives to see if he has a naturalisation certificate?  There could be information on that which will give you some clues.

Yep, done the maps bit.  Even translated Fairwater into German - it doesn't translate exactly, Shoenwasser.  I also considered that Kenny may be a gang-plank name and looked for similar sounding German type names.  However I never thought of naturalisation.  Which Archives would that be? NSW, National, Victorian?  Thanks for that.
