My wife's family name was McIver - her father came over from Belfast in 1935 ish, served in Malta & North Africa in WW2, & then set up home in Mid Beds

Hi Mariac

I think my McIvers came over from Ireland, circa 1850.  Robert McIver is registered in Manchester in 1881, with his wife Margaret Foy,  but I can't trace any further information for him.

At present, I have found no Scottish connection.

Regards
Catherine

Hi John

Have you come across a Robert McIver on your travels?  I'm presently 'hitting a brick wall' with my research for this line.  I believe Robert orginated from Ireland.  I know Robert married Margaret Foy in Manchester 1879, and I think his father William, was born in Ireland.

Regards
Catherine
