I think more likely meant left there 63 or 53 years

if he died in 1912 then 63 years  - he left America in 1849 at 18 years old or  53 years  - 1859 so its really 63 years if he was married  after 1854 in Australia.

if I confuse you sorry and made your head swirled smiles.  hope you find more out..
cheers Kathleen.x

There seems to be a few cotton mils in the Stormont, Leeds area of Ontario.  So maybe that William you found JJ in 1851 in Elisabethtown might be worth following through?

Well, they'd had to have gotten busy and had a bunch of sons, then if it was sons who got the family business, as I just looked at it more objectively and there's all older sisters! Haha...
Boy, having the 1851 has only helped one person so far...rather frustrating odds, I'd say! Of course many we are searching for may have been mistranscribed...not sure how sensitive the database is...
But then that's the fun of it I suppose...

it would surely help if we had a bit more to go on....we have a name and an approximate age....and an elusive family business... If the Foxton's were of substantial wealth I think we'd have found a bit more on them...

Do you have any other family whom you might contact who could shed more light on these Foxtons?  J.J.

Well, then.... ;D here's some homework...The 1851 isn't complete....But if you put in only the surname Foxton, there aren't a lot of results and most of them seem to be in Leeds, and Elizabethtown.
http://content.ancestry.ca/iexec/default.aspx?htx=List&dbid=1061&o_iid=27113&o_lid=27113&o_it=27113

Many of those cotton mills are within close proximity, I think...so starting in Leeds might not be such a bad idea...This site covers all those areas, apparently...

I'm sure there are more links for this area, but I don't have any myself... J.J.
