Surnames:Williams, Banks and Hibbs
« on: Saturday 13 November 04 11:30 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace my husbands ancestors with very little information to hand, mainly because about 8 members of his family were killed during WW2.  Although the family were all based in Liverpool/Cheshire area I don't know if that was where they originated. The details I do have are as follows:
Richard Williams c: 1865  - a labourer.  His only known child -
John Edward Williams c: 1885-1955.  He was a master boot repairer.  Have been unable to find a birth certificate for him - his children were:
John Howard Williams b: 1908 St Helens
Charles Williams b: 1910 Warrington
Ethel Williams b: 1917 Oswestry
Thomas Banks
c: 1860 possibly an engine driver.  Only known child -
John Banks c:1892 Liverpool m to Margaret Ann Hibbs c: 1886 - again because of lack of information have been unable to find birth certificates.

Can anyone suggest any other ways to find out more?

Many thanks in anticipation!

Kay
