thanks for your quick reply anne

ive tried this but without any success

i can trace her from when she got married to when to died in burnley
ive even found today where she is actually buried her grave and everything but still not dob

do you think this may be because she was actually from travelling folk and therefore they never got round to registering her ??

its annoying really as i think her side of the family if tavelling folk would be very interesting

thanks

Hello going from what you mention in your post I searched the 1881 census for you Only one match to the name using the 1881 national index, which led me to this entry:

   Dwelling:   22 Ashwell Rd
Census Place:   Bethnal Green, London, Middlesex, England
Source:   FHL Film 1341090     PRO Ref RG11    Piece 0416    Folio 102    Page 78
   Marr   Age   Sex   Birthplace
John CUMBERS   M   40    M   Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England

Emma CUMBERS   M   35    F   Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England

Emma CUMBERS       14    F   Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England

Rosina CUMBERS       6    F   Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England

I also searched for Cumber in the Nolfolk region but there were no matches in 1881 only one entry for a Louisa Cumber if that is any use to you ?
I hope this is of help to you in your research  :)

thanks ticker

but you've opened another mystery

this means they went front being married in 1890 in Halifax to living in Lancaster in 1891 having their first born in 1891 in lacaster

where on earth do u get your info from

anyway its a great help

their  next born was Minnie ( i always knew her as auntie Minnie although she was my mums auntie) born 1892 but its already getting exciting as i was always told we had travelling folk in our family they certainly travelled didn't they

Rosina born in vermouth norfolk - Edward born in Leeds - married in Halifax - first born in Lancaster - settled in burnley Lancashire - why did they stop - i wouldn't have !

thanks alot

Hi Frances,

Can I suggest that you look in Suffolk for her birth.  My 2 x gt grannie gave her place of birth variously as Yarmouth in Norfolk, Norwich, and Bradwell in Essex.  However, there is a Bradwell in Suffolk which lies just over the river from Yarmouth and that is where I found her parents in 1851.

Good luck.

Nell

Oops, sorry, got your name wrong, Fran
