Hi Jackie i cant do a look up for you, but i would be interested to know where in Cheshire Buglawton is. You will need more information i am afraid as you say "not much to go on. The parents names would be useful .then you could search the I.G.I

According to Genuki  Buglawton - A township in Astbury Parish, Northwich Hundred (SJ 8663).

The Church records indicate it was not a separate C of E parish until 1840. The only churches  in existence in 1828 appear to be
Methodist Chapel (Primitive), Mill Street. Built 1823
Buglawton, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan), Dane-in-Shaw. Built 1824, rebuilt 1898, closed 1973
http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/chs/buglawtn.htm - There is no indication on this site as to where the church records in the required timeframe are held.

The LDS library doesn't show any records for  Buglawton until 1840 (C of E). If the Christening was C of E, it would presumably be in the Astbury Church records. If Methodist, someone else may know if the registers still exist.

Hi Jackie

Buglawton is about a mile north of Congleton on the A54 now!!

My niece lived there 15 years ago !

Not much help for a look up - but always nice to know where these villages are!

Cheers
