Wow, thanks everyone for all the help. From the information given I was also able to just find his mother and fathers name (that Jenn also found) which is the UK link I was missing.

on  your  link  to  the church  stone  -  very  interesting  it was too-  it  says  about  Samuel  Tyzack  having been  left an inheritance and becoming a wealthy  man

well on  the  1901 census  he  is at Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire,  80  Main Strert  "The Lodge"
as a Collier Owner  and Employer  long with  his wife  mary  but  no  children alas  but  several servants  in residence

Hi Jenn,

Thanks for all the information. Yes, I do have the marriage date of Alexander McFARLANE and Mary Ann TYZACK and a list of all their children. Someone in my family had done research at that level of the family so I have their birth and death dates. Percy McFARLANE is my great-grandfather.

I am currently living in Norway, but thanks for the info about the library link, it would be good to get a copy of the obituary.
