Thanks to you all for your help.
I should have thanked you last night but was too busy looking at those other lists!!
They have been very helpful especially the SOUTH-AFRICA-IMMIGRANTS-BRITISH-L. Haven't found a connection between Arthur CHANNER and Mary Ann CHANNER yet but feel much more hopeful of accomplishing this sooner or later.
Thanks
Helen
PS the info we have on Arthur CHANNER is hand written information from what appears could be his death certificate. (Not sourced, just a piece of paper in my father-in-law's family history file of unknown origin!)

Hi  I have only just joined this site!!  My maiden name is Channer and my family is descended from Sir Ralph Channer.........all the family live in or around the South of England......some went to America and live in Atlanta........I have a family bible which I will check......but think goes back to the mid 1800s.  I have a copy of the Coat of Arms and family motto.......I will have to look for the latin version but in English if is 'Fortune Favours the Brave'
