What other information do you have? I am assuming William Martin married Agnes Todd in 1935 in the registration district of Auckland. The nearest male Martin of Magheracloone lived Spennymoor which is several miles from Crook. Rose Martin lived at Willington about three miles from Crook but she died 1873 and in any case her married name was Keenan.

I have a photo of my grandfather and great grandfathers gravestone in the churchyard at ST. Peter and ST. Pauls at Drumgossat in Magheracloone and there are Martin headstones on both sides of our family headstone

Would any of you be familiar with the James Martin family who lived a mile or so south of Carrickmacross? As I understand, they lived in Magheross Parish, Dunoge townland. James was married to Mary Leary. Their son Thomas and daughter Sarah lived there as late as 1911.

How might I locate Sarah's will? I'm planning a trip to Carrickmacross in June and would like to find more information on the family; the location of their home and burial site.

I recently got interested in Ancestry.co.uk and traced my father`s line to Owen Martin(born 1847 in Magheracloone) as quoted in JT Arthurs post regarding James Martin being taken in by Owen after being evicted by the Babingtons. Apparently Owen's cottage was later used as a forge and was still standing  10 years ago. I have friends in Dundalk and definitely going to visit the forge and St Peter and Pauls Church next time I`m in Ireland.

I am looking for a Patrick Martin married to Elizabeth Byrne. I think Elizabeth probably came from Mageracloone (with my GGx3 Anne Byrne who I think was her sister). So I assume Patrick may have come from close by.

Patrick was a Soap Chandler. And was born in the late 1700's/early 1800's.

Patrick and Elizabeth had a daughter Catherine Theresa Martin who married a John Fitzsimons - either in Monaghan or in Newry. Catherine and John then emigrated to Austrailia.

I have a DNA match with an Australian descendent.
