Thanks again for that. Are there any in Rode, Mells, Whatley  or (Great) Elm please? Those are the main areas for Rossiters at this time.

There are about 25  :P in Whatley, the eldest being Joseph and Martha age 50.
Not quite old enough to be your John's parents, I suppose...

Hi Tanya,

Thanks for that. I know that family. Just rechecked and their youngest child was born 1816. As you say, not really old enough.

Joseph's parents were James Rossiter & Anne Hoddinott who both died before 1841. I have eight of their children, the last (Simon) being born in 1795 in Witham Friary so it's a vague possibility that being born 1801 would not be too much of a stretch though Anne would have been 49. What do you think?
