Hi

Anyone out there know of a pub which I think is now called the Sun Inn in Maryport. It was called The Sun.

Trying to find any details on it.

There used to be a Sun/ Sun Inn at Flimby (next village down coast) but the last time it was there it was the local Amateur Rugby League Club House.

1871 census seems to show a Sun Inn at 47 Wood St, Maryport :)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

49 Wood St definitely has the look of a pub about it.
It is on the western corner of the crossing with Crosby St, and has its door on the actual corner.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

There was a Sun Inn in Wood Street Maryport .(Think there is also one still open in Dearham)
The Sun in Wood street last landlord was Joe Huddart and his wife Ida a great couple ,who then moved up the road to run the Senhouse arms .
It was open till the mid 70's I think and was either a National Breweries pub or maybe a Carlisle ale house .
