hi
im trying to trace any sims from merthyr vale mid glam
who may be related to louisa mary sims born merthyr vale 1920.
cant find her on any of the census records

You mention 1920 and then not being able to find any census entries for the lady in question.

Census's are released every 100 years, so you will not find your ancestor yet as the census for 1921 wont be released until 2021. If you wish for me to look up the surname in the census years 1841/51/61 & 81. I will assist with your query.

In 1861 the surname Sims gives 92 matches to the name (I didn't think the name would have been that popular then!)

Then there is this entry in 1851 when using the keyword (Merthyr):

youve been really helpfull
i will let you know how i get on

and yes sims is a very popular name around merthyr
at one time there were at least 5 families all close relations living in belle view merthyr vale they were my husbands family on his mothers side . there are two families of sims still living there today!!!and loads more spread futher around mid glam.
i think some family interviewing needs to be undertaken!!!
