Elizabeth Yelland of Holsworthy
« on: Tuesday 16 November 04 15:08 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on an Elizabeth Yelland of Holsworthy Devon. She was aged 64 years old in the 1851 census, is recorded as married (but may have been widowed), a washerwoman, born and living in Holsworthy.

In 1849 she was the informant on the death certificate of my 4xgreat grandfather. In the 1851 census she was living with his youngest child, 10 year old Jane Littlejohns.

She seems to have been a feature in the lives of my ancestors but i've been unable to find out if she was related or just a neighbour. I'm interested to know if anyone has her on their tree and can provide me with anymore information.

Thanks

Paula

Hi,

Thanks for the offer. If you are able to search the burial records for Holsworthy i'd appreciate it if you could look at a couple of records for me. The freeBMD states that there is a death registry for an Elizabeth Yelland in the september quarter 1851, and also in the march quarter 1857. Would you be able to look them both up for me and let me know the information given in the burial record?

Thanks

Paula
