I found a David Evans in 1851.  He's listed as being from Llangunnock, but aged 23. Is the place Llangunnock or Llangunnor? He's listed as a tailor, the son of Griffeth Evans, a tailor and farmer of 9 acres.

Could this be him?

Many Thanks Isobel, I think this is the family, but I'm quite surprised to see David as a farmer.

Working back from the present, the 1871 and 1881 Llanelly census shows him as a labourer in a Tin Works. I couldn't find him in Llanelly in 1861 so I guessed he moved his family from Llangunnor between '61 and '71.

Just as a matter of interest, they had another son David, my g.gfather, which showed up in the 1871 census. After obtaining his b.cert. I found that his mother Ann's maiden name was.......EVANS!!

Anyway, Many thanks again!
