Sarah

For photos it is worth contacting the Beds Archives - they have pics of my grandad etc I never knew about...

Their search site isnt complete so it is worth an email too [and they are very helpful]:

Hi Sarah,

I realise that this message was posted a long time ago and you have probably found what you were looking for but Maud was my great grandmother and if you have any further questions I would be happy to help and I could even provide a photograph.

I would also appreciate any information you could offer regarding her husband W.S Bailey which I believe is also your father.

Many Thanks
Jackie

Hi Jackie

Welcome to Rootschat :D

Sarah hasn't been around here since 2009, but hopefully she still uses the same email address and will get a notification of your reply.

Hi Jackie

Firstly an explanation, Sarah is my daughter who was using my email address and she has moved on but I think I might be able to help you.
My name is Kevin and William Sidney was my father on his second marriage so we are related
What sort of information would you like?
I could send you some photos of my Dad, I could also put you in contact with John Bailey who has quite a lot of information regarding the Baileys in Luton
Do you have a photo of Maud and William on their wedding day I would be interested in that
I will pass the information on to Sarah who was interested in the family tree in 2009

Best regards
Kevin Bailey

Hi Kevin,

Thank you so much for your message. So I guess this makes you my great uncle and my nan's half brother!  :)

We never knew anything about your father other than his surname and that he was married to my great grandmother, so I am very intrigued to find out some more info about him. Unfortunatley there are no photographs in exsistence amongst my family so I would be very grateful if you would send me some.

Consequently I'm afraid the wedding photo of William and Maud is also nowhere to be found, I can however send you a photo of Maud if this is still of interest to you or Sarah.

I guess the kind of information I'd like regarding William Sidney Bailey would be D.O.B, Did he stay in Luton, if not where did he go?, D.O.D, how many children he had from his second marriage?

I would also be very grateful if you could put me in touch with John Bailey as I would be very interested in the information he has regarding the Bailey's in Luton.

Once again many thanks for your message and I look forward to your response.

Best Wishes
Jackie  :)
