 ::)hello can anyone help   with my search i am searching for a james brown  who married a sarah oldham  1842  they were married at all saints chapel   registration district barton on irwell  in the district of chorlton he was a police officer then and in 1848 he bacame a police inspecter . i have searched  and searched .  there are no records of him at salford police museum so he must have policed outside this district  i have not found any records on census records . i have found a record of him in 1851 directory living at brewer st salford  on his marriage certificate his father was a alexander brown coachman . and sarahs father was william oldham  labouer  it only says didsbury as there residence when they married
