Please would some kind person do me a look up for John Egan born 1820 Canada, his wife Huldah don`t know when she was born, Mary Ann born 1842 Ireland, other siblings were Nancy born about 1840 Canada, Cynthia born about 1840 Canada, George born about 1844 Canada, Ann born about 1846 Canada, Burt born about 1850 Canada.   Much Appreciated. There's no Mary Ann and Burt, but the rest of the names all match up.

Is it possible the 1842 Mary you were looking for died and they used the name again?  This headstone certainly suggests she's their daughter.  It's situated in West Vienna Cemetery, Clio, Michigan, USA.

Hello silverhawk your a star.  Thats them in 1881 census as their was an Archer Egan born  about 1862 Canada.  And thank you so much for the 1851 census . Mary Ann Egan met my Charles John Rowley as they had a child also Charles John Rowley born London Southwark Middlesex 1859 and they didn`t get married untill 1873 in Newcastle upon Tyne as that is where my Rowley`s were living, so i wonder where Mary Ann got to in 1851 census. I might find her yet.    I`ve just had another look through my info and John Egan 1820 died 1879 in Ontario Canada and Huldah died 1888 in West Virginia Genessee Michigan USA.  I got the Egan family sent me ages ago from a cousin which she got off ancestory.    I`ve had my Rowley`s for years now but never had anything on the Egan family.  I`m very grateful for your help and time. Hi again, Gladys.  Are you 100% sure that John and Huldah is your 1842 Mary Ann's parents, because it seems odd they'd have another daughter called Mary Ann 24 years later   Could your Mary Ann possibly be John's kid sister?

Ploughing on with these Egans.  I've found a reference on the net to a John Egan, buried at United Church Cemetery in Southwold, Ontario.  Died 15th March 1879 age 58, so that matches your info.  The next plot to him is a Patrick Egan: 17th March 1791 to 10th Jun 1831 - Sergeant of the 6th Regiment.  John's father perhaps?

Hello again silverhawk you could be right as it does seem odd to me but like i said i got the Egan family sent from a cousin and she got it off ancestory but i do know Mary Ann`s father was John Egan a oilclloth maker as i have the marriage certificate so its still finding Mary Ann in 1851 census.    Thanks a great lot for the marriages and tombstones which i will have a good read tomorrow.  Its very good of you to look these up for me.  Many thanks.   gladys

The John married to Huldah was a farmer in 1851.  He could have changed profession, but then again...

I'll have a look myself, see if any other possibilities present themselves.  Meanwhile, I've found Nancy on the 1881 Census.  Still in Southwold, Ontario.

Nancy's in Port Stanley, Ontario in 1901.  She's the only person in the house.  Birthday listed as 6th June 1840 and she's widowed.

There was a William Oliver who died in Port Stanley on 18th October 1890, age 50.  Cause of death: Brain tumour.  He was born in Yorkshire, England, so that ties in.  Occupation was "Lake Captain" though which doesn't.  But again, people change professions... it's a possibility anyway.
