Quaker records Stanford in Vale area
« on: Saturday 30 December 06 19:13 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help with this small problem have got one line back to John and Jane BUNCE who had 7 children between 1720 and 1731 all christened in Stanford in the Vale Berkshire.(One being a Daniel)
I have not found either a marriage or Birth/Baptism for John so have not found a maiden name for Jane BUT...
There is information on Daniel BUNCE of nearby Charney Bassett imprisoned for refusing to pay towards Church repairs and for not having his children(not named baptised because he was a QUAKER In The Magazine for Oxford and again his name is listed in Church Warden's accounts for Stanford in the Vale for1671,1683 1an 1695 as Daniel BUNCE of Goosey for not paying church dues.
I suspect this Daniel could well be the father of John but how can I prove it Do/did Quaker's register the names of their children in any way-was there a naming ceremony? Where would such records be held? Has anyone else come across this family
Hope you can help
