Lookup please for Mary John[s] b1868/69 at LLanstephan

I am tracing my mother's family line. She was Gladys Thomas B 1907 in Pontygwaith. Her mother was Mary John and this is shown on my mother's the birth certificate. Mary married William John Thomas [b1868-Maesteg[Bridgend].

I have a wedding certificate which shows Mary Johns[not John] marrying William John Thomas. Mary Johns father is shown as William Johns[not John] and this was in 1892.

My 1881 census shows Mary John 12 [b1869] with father William aged 50[a widower] and brother John John aged 26[B 1855] and living at the School House.LLangain,Carmarthen.

I am hoping earlier census' can link into my trace as far back as 1841 so that I get the births and marriages or deaths of the parents. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou.
