Orlando Corn(h)ill - Barnsley
« on: Wednesday 03 January 07 20:14 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out as many details as I can about Orlando Corn(h)ill who was born in Barnsley in about 1886.  He is not one of my own ancestors but I am researching this person for a work colleague.

I found his birth in the March quarter of 1886 but would like any baptism details and 1891 and 1901 census information if possible.

Any information would be most appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best wishes

1901 is a bit trickier - I think the parents have become  Cornwell  :) - but I'm still looking - watch this space  :)  - Orlando seems to have altered all his names (or was hiding!)  :o   :o

Here is Charles in 1881 but I can't find him earlier. I do have a fairly solid brick wall in Devon - c. 1850s so I will blame the census enumerators

Charles in 1881 is a lodger RG11/4595  94/17 South Elmshall Yorks (no other address)
William Cross Head mar 57 Shoemaker Hatfield Yorks
Harriet Cross wife Mar 52  Hemmingfield Do

Charles Cornill Lodger unm 23 Railway signalman Barnstable Devonshire

Wow Trish - thanks again.  ;)

My work colleague was delighted with the stuff you found for 1891 - she'll be over the moon with this lot!

Best wishes
