GRIMWOOD/CLARKE Families
« on: Wednesday 03 January 07 20:26 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for the parents and siblings of Ruth Elizabeth Clarke nee GRIMWOOD.  She was born abt 1904 in Cosford district Suffolk. Elizabeth died in Bildeston on 13 March 2000

She Married Robert John Cecil Clarke, born abt 1906 (not known where he was born).  They married (possibly) in
Sudbury Suffolk in  Jan 1940. Children of the marriage were Edwin, Peter, Ronald and Janet.

Any information on Ruth Elizabeth Grimwood would be most helpful in my search for this family, as I have hit antoerh "brick wall".  Regards Maeve

One of the best ways to find out about Grimwood in Sudbury area (or any area in fact) it to contact Maggie who is doing the One Name Study for the Grimwood name - she also has a Grimwood Web Site.

I have sent her various obituaries/news notices (most often about Miss Kathleen Grimwood who is now about 104 years old  :D
taken from our local newspapers here in south Suffolk over the last few years.

will take you to the page with information on all the research for the Grimwood name in Suffolk (and beyond).

Do give Maggie a call, I am sure she will be pleased to hear from you  ;)

I have no interest in the name - just helping another researcher.

I gave Maggie a call but she cannot help until I find the parents of Ruth Elizabeth Clarke - nee Grimwood.  I have found her birth reference which is 1904 Cosford district Suffolk vol: a, page: 954 and thats the lot.  Maggie has lots of Grimwoods in the village of Bildeston Suffolk but as yet we cannot match anything up. Thanks for your help anyway.  Regards Maeve

Ruth Clarke was married to my Grandfathers Brother.

My Grandparents lived in Bildeston for over 50 years.

When I was a child I used to visit Ruth and spend time with her daughter Janet.

Can't help with your search on her parents names as my family were the Clarkes.
