Oops - I saw that the marriage was registered in Stafford therefore I checked Stafford registration district births and found
Alice Mellings - June 1908 Stafford 6b 12

No worries - its a better fit .... thought I had searched +/-2 years but obviously I had just 1907.


I think its guesswork to try and go further. So on the assumption we have the right Alice ...

1. Need to verify from Alice B-cert that the John we see marrying in 1901 is her father.

2. Need to find from 1901 M-Cert who John C's father was ...

Yes and thank you both for the search!!

This is very interessting.

The only paper I´ve got is a copy of the Marrige paper between Alice and Ruben, the Birth cert of my mother and a change of adress paper that Alice never sent.

I am going to to visit London and take a trip to Newport in april with my mother who has not been to great britain since she left with her mother 1946 or 47. I wanted to check before if there was any related people for us to contact and maybe visit.

I just called my mother and she did know that she was born 07 april 1907 in Stafford.  ???
