I am looking for the descendants of Thomas (& Martha )SMITH who was mayor of Leicester in the ealy 1900's

His children were :

Thomas William,who married Lydia EYRE 1899

Lizzie ,who married Thomas HIND....
    children Arthur 1894, Horace W 1895 & Frederick L 1900

Harriet, who marrie d Robert William SWAINSON...
    Robert Withington  1900

Florence,  who married Henry HEGGS

Albert Leonard ,who married Mary Ann ?...
   Thomas Leonard 1894,Albert Burton 1899

Harry Alexander ,who married Ellen Benner CLARK....
   Dorothy Withingto Bonner  1901, Edna Clara Clark 1903

I can't help you with descendants of Thomas and Martha Smith, but I do have a copy of a book published in 1936 called Roll of the Mayors and Lord Mayors of Leicester 1209-1935 which gives a brief biography of each one, including Thomas Smith, Mayor in 1907.  I would be happy to send you a scan or photocopy of his entry if you don't have it already and PM me with your email address or postal address.

I am a descendant. Went though boxes today and found we have Thomas' obe, key to Leicester, commemoration cup and book.

Thanks for your reply. It has been many years since I posted and I had almost given up on  finding more about the descendants of Thomas and Martha. Martha was the sister of my late husband's great great grandfather, and I (as family historian) have been researching the family for about 35 years, and have quite an extensive Withington tree. We have photo of Thomas and Martha and Family.

Just found this today. I’m also a descendant as he was my great great grandfather (my great grandfather was Harry Alexander Smith, my grandmother Edna Smith).

Laura - great that you have some of his things. I have just found a photo of him which he sent to his Grandaughters Edna and Dorothy (hand written message on back)
